Tamara Garrett holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Hardin-Simmons University and a Master of Music in Music Education from Southern Methodist University. After teaching choral music in Texas public schools for eight years, she established Garrett Voice Studio in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, where she led a successful private studio for more than a decade and partnered with local high school choral programs to provide private coaching and audition preparation. Recently relocated to Northern Colorado, Tamara is excited to continue working with a vibrant community of young singers.

 

As an educator and performer, Tamara loves to help students grow in confidence, skill, and artistry while developing a healthy, authentic voice. She brings both professional experience and personal understanding of the demands placed on young singers, and she enjoys guiding students through auditions, competitions, and performance opportunities. Her goal is to equip each student with skills that serve them onstage and beyond. Lessons are tailored to each student’s unique goals and learning style, with an emphasis on healthy vocal technique, breath support, tone production, musicianship, and expressive performance. While she specializes in classical and musical theatre styles, Tamara believes a strong vocal foundation benefit singers in every genre.

Beyond private lessons, Tamara serves as vocal director for middle and high school musical theatre productions at Resurrection Christian School in Loveland. Drawing from experience in more than 20 stage productions as both a performer and music director, she is passionate about creating meaningful, student-centered artistic experiences that foster excellence, confidence, and joy. She especially enjoys helping students bring stories to life through music and performance.

 

Tamara's students have earned placement in All-State and various Regional honor choirs, leading roles in musical theatre productions, admission to music programs and universities nationwide, and acceptance into competitive summer music intensives. But more importantly, her students feel safe to explore their voice, grow in confidence, and find JOY in singing.

 

Tamara is a professional member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and holds K–12 Choral Music teaching certification in both Colorado and Texas. She lives in Timnath with her husband, Scott, daughters Ellis and Margot, and Ritz, the Schnoodle pup.
